The fathometer survey data was collected with an Electronic Range-Azimuth survey system in combination with a digital recording depth sounder. The limits of the survey extended 100 feet from each bridge fascia, covering an area of approximately 215,500 square feet. The inspection surveys took place shortly after the new Goethals Bridge opened and will serve as the baseline for comparisons with future surveys.
