The park’s amenities included an amphitheater, a boat launch, a community garden, an elevated concession stand and field house with restrooms, fitness equipment, a playground, site lighting, a river walk, a sculpture park, a soccer field, and a spray park.
Passaic County engaged Boswell to provide professional engineering services to advance the schematic plans to final design and to perform regulatory permitting and oversight services during the development and construction phase of the park. Its location – being in a floodway, floodplain, and holding historic status – presented unique challenges that Boswell engineers were able to mitigate through thoughtful planning and consideration of impacts to the environment, including minimizing excavation to reduce the cost of the disposal of ID-27 material. Numerous public meetings solicited input and support from residents regarding the project’s design.
